1. Who may use the service
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a legal agreement. A parent, carer, educator or other authorised adult may create resources for a child.
2. Your account
Give accurate information, protect your password and tell us if your account may have been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of content you upload. You give LinguaLayers a limited permission to store, copy and process it only as needed to provide, secure and support the service.
You must only upload material you own, material in the public domain, or material you are authorised to copy, translate and adapt. Our Copyright and Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms.
4. Translations and generated output
AI and automated tools can make mistakes. You must review translations, page layouts and printable output before using them, especially for children. A fluent speaker should check important translations.
To provide text-recognition and translation features, relevant page images or extracted text may be processed by OpenAI when you choose to run those steps, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
LinguaLayers is not a legal, medical or professional translation service. Do not rely on it for safety-critical information.
5. Service availability
We work to keep LinguaLayers available and protect saved projects, but testing features may change and interruptions can occur. Keep a copy of important final files you download.
6. Fees and cancellation
The launch offer is a free four-page preview, followed by an A$10 one-off purchase for one book. LinguaLayers is designed for books of about 40 split pages, and we currently include up to 50 split pages for books that run a little longer. It is not a subscription. The total price and included usage will be shown before purchase. Paid use is also covered by our Payments, Cancellations and Refund Policy.
7. Suspending an account
We may restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to address a serious breach, security risk, unlawful use or harm to the service or another person. Where practical, we will explain the issue and allow a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
8. Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law. We will provide the service with the care required by law.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms for future use of the service. We will give reasonable notice of material changes. Queensland law applies, subject to any consumer protections that apply where you live.
